Join us for coffee, tea and pastry Plus this month's  topic is Genealogy!1st Mondays 

 Nelson room Independence Center 11:00 a.m. - named for Thomas Nelson  who signed the Declaration of Independence at the age of 37. 

Craig Smith, former president of the Henderson Genealogical Society and SCA resident will talk about discovering your  family ancestry and our new Special Interest group.  For no additional charge our members can enjoy monthly meet ups and tours to take you into the past and your own heritage.

Guests can attend twice before becoming a member but why wait?  For just $10 you can save on all the events on our calendar.  May 3rd is Island Fest - luau and members save $10. 

Membership forms are in the kiosks and checks for $10 can be made to Sun City Anthem Community Association Inc. with ICCC dues on the memo line.   Mailbox is at the fitness center. 

Don't miss our Free event - APRIL 6th   1-6 pm and meet our members at the CA Fire Relief Rally Fundraiser with 

entertainment by The Elderly Brothers Band, Bob Bush and Friends and Christine and Jim Starr . BYOB and snacks and just enjoy the beautiful mid 70's weather with  only 4 mph winds.    You might have hear the Elderly Brothers at Carmines or South point, Bob Bush and Friends on campus events or local restaurants and Christine and Jim Starr at our theater group productions.   If you want to donate by check or cash, these are the 501C3 tax deductible charities we are supporting.

Red Cross, LA Regional Food Bank and the International Fund for Animal Welfare taking care of family pets during this time of uncertainty.    We are looking forward to this informative event with community emergency information and tips.

ISLAND FEST

LOTS of Aloha  on May 3rd,  3 to 6 in the courtyard at Independence Center.   Get your aloha shirt, parrot head hat or yacht gear ready for a Fun afternoon.   Lei stand will be selling from our ICCC heritage crafts classes if you don't have a lei to wear. 

Well known local DJ FREDALERT  will be rock'in some yacht music, Jimmy Buffet and Beach Boys tunes plus Reggae for all our line dancers. 

Elvis will be singing Blue Hawaii tunes with some lovely  hula ladies  and Bob Bush will be singing some  oldies but goodies from our beach days. 

Luau Buffet with ono grinds.  All for just $30 for ICCC members and $40 for new members.( due for 2025 included)

Prizes, costume contest and more. 

Put your check payable to Sun City Anthem Community Association Inc  memo line ISLAND  in the ICCC mailbox at the center.   New members fill out a form from the kiosk in front of Activities office.   Pick up a flyer for menu and more info.

CA Fire Relief Fundraising Rally

Entertainment by the Elderly Brothers Band, Christina and Jim Starr and Bob Bush and Friends. 

Bring your picnic lunch, drinks and join us for a great afternoon of Fun and information from our fire dept and Emergency Preparedness Service Group.    

Thank you to all who have or will be donating    Red Cross, LA  Regional Food Bank, International Fund for the Welfare of Animals.

Save the date- Thursday MARCH  20th - "the Candidates for the SCA Board"  Nelson room at Independence.  Starts at 5:00.

Our requests for changing our ICCC charter were granted by the Community Lifestyle Governance Committee on Friday March 14th.   Once we have board approval we are on a ROLL!

2. We also added Heritage Crafts which we can sell at the Arts and Crafts Fairs and Club Fairs.    Do you have a heritage craft that you would like to teach? Lei class starts this month.  email phyllperryiccc@gmail.com 

3. We can buy materials and tools in bulk for our heritage crafts classes and save everyone some $$$$$$

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

WELCOME to our New Members!   Thank you to those who have renewed their dues for 2025.  We appreciate your support whether you can or cannot come to all of our wonderful get togethers and events.   There will be more benefits for our members in the year ahead.   Our 20th anniversary year is going to be amazing!  Put your $10 dues check or cash in the ICCC mailbox at Anthem Center with your contact info on it.  Payable to Sun City Anthem Community Association Inc. with ICCC on memo line. 

MONDAY JAN 6th - 11:00   - Come by for coffee and pastry - Nelson room at Independence Center.   We have lots of the latest news and will be giving you a preview of the Lunar New Year  aka Chinese New Year coming at the end of the month.  Did you know that there are at least 8 other countries that celebrate the Lunar New Year with a public holiday?

 Our new secretary Wendy Mui will tell us all about the year of the SNAKE and what it means and how our Asian friends celebrate the new year with customs, food and fortunes.  Do you know how to say Happy New Year in Chinese?  Mandarin and Cantonese?   We are planning to have a few tickets for the Chinese Heritage Club New Year's Celebration to purchase so bring cash or check if you are interested.    Wear your Asian garments if you wish.  Come and learn and enjoy the latest chatter, travel tips and celebrate birthdays.   Learn about our club New Year's Resolutions and our regular Food and Friends dine outs. HOLIDAYS AROUND THE WORLD CHAMPAGNE BRUNCH

 November 27th is the LAST CHANCE to purchase your ticket for "Holidays Around the World Champagne Brunch" on Sunday December 1st - Independence Center 10:00 to 1:00 . SUMMER OF LOVE

Do you remember the Woodstock Music Festival August 15- 18th.1969  Bethel, New York?   

It was a cultural phenomenon with a diverse audience and music genre spreading a message of unity, peace and love for all.     We're bringing that feeling back on August 17th at Independence Center while renewing friendships.   Pretend it's 1969 again.  Revisit the counter culture with the International Cultural Connections.   Stay cool on a Hot August night.  Wear your bell bottoms and tie dye flower power as it's Peace, Love and FUN this August 17th. Independence Center  4:30 to 7:30.   

 We'll be singing the songs you love to remember and dancing to the music of  "Bob Bush and Friends".    Pizza,Cake, Costume Contest, raffles and more..........  BYOB 

Tickets $20 for ICCC members  $25 for non members or join for just $10.
